See how very much our Father loves us, for he calls us his children, and that is what we are!

But the people who belong to this world don’t recognize that we are God’s children

because they don’t know him. ~ 1 John 3:1-2

Matthew West wrote a song based on the above verses.  Hail Mary, our awesome band, played it during the Contemporary Family Worship service this Sunday and together we sang:

Hello, my name is regret
I’m pretty sure we have met
Every single day of your life
I’m the whisper inside
That won’t let you forget

For the past year, we have turned our focus to improving our web and social media presence.  We have revamped our website, pinned out our heart desires on Pinterest, posted on Facebook and we have been sending out the E-News and Bulletins via email every week. One piece that has been left neglected a bit is our beloved blog.

Hello, my name is defeat
I know you recognize me
Just when you think you can win
I’ll drag you right back down again
‘Til you’ve lost all belief

For blogs to be successful, they need to be updated regularly with current and relevant information.  For a church, this is no small task.  Lots of planning, assigning, volunteering and commitment are needed.  We were doing really well for a while, and then we sort of got out of the groove.  And I don’t know about you but, when I get out of a groove, it is hard to get back into a regular routine again.  It can seem daunting and overwhelming and well, downright defeating.

Oh, these are the voices. Oh, these are the lies
And I have believed them for the very last time

But thanks be to God, that we don’t have to throw in the towel just yet! For several months, there have been meetings, volunteer coordination, and schedules being put together.   We have formed a core group of writers, thinkers, artists, Jesus followers, and willing participants that have committed to help us revive our blog again.   I am honored to have been included in some of the brainstorming sessions and to help kick off our new schedule.

Hello, my name is child of the one true King
I’ve been saved, I’ve been changed, I have been set free
“Amazing Grace” is the song I sing
Hello, my name is child of the one true King

What can you expect?  Every week, we will be featuring new content from a different contributor.  We will be covering topics such as Christian formation, stewardship, and mission.  There will be updates from our hard working committees, vestry members and clergy.  There will be different formats – reports, videos, articles and photo montages.

I am no longer defined
By all the wreckage behind
The one who makes all things new
Has proven it’s true
Just take a look at my life

Our mission for this blog revival is to show not just our parishioners and church family what St. Mary’s Episcopal is up to. No, the hope is that our blog is more than just another news source of weekly events around our parish.

We want to document His love.  We want to witness His grace. We want it to be a place where anyone around Stuart or the world, can come and see for themselves what Christ is doing in this small place we call home.  We want those that have yet to recognize Him, see lives made new through Him.

So, welcome (again) to St. Mary’s Episcopal Blog!
