Planned Giving

Give a gift that helps St. Mary’s while giving back to you in return.

Dear Friends in Christ:

Given a period that seemed full of obstacles and dead ends, St. Mary’s was able to complete the renovation of Ross Hall, install a state-of-the-art audio-visual venue for worship and cultural events, conduct a virtual mission to Ecuador, hire a new priest to expand the formation of youth and family ministries while maintaining our numerous other missions. This is all made possible by God’s love and the generosity of St Mary’s parishioners.

To support the missions of St. Mary’s in the years ahead, you may wish to make a charitable gift annuity today.  This gift is special because it works to your benefit, too. You will enjoy tax savings and a steady stream of income for life. What a wonderful way to safeguard your future while securing the missions of St. Mary’s. A booklet on this charitable option is viewable here

To get started, you can request a free, personalized illustration based on your situation. Christine Eagan of the Episcopal Church Foundation is prepared to walk you through the illustration and the process of creating a Charitable Gift Annuity. You may contact her by e-mailing her at ceagan@ecf.org. or by calling ECF’s main line at 800-697-2858

Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of St. Mary’s.

We are stewards of God’s bounty. For a brief period, we are given time, energy and resources. What we do with these gifts ultimately defines the character of our life and the depth of our spiritual understanding.  Planned giving is one expression of the wise use of the personal resources God has entrusted to us.

General information on planned giving is shown below. Discussions with your family as well as tax, legal and financial advisors should be part of your decision-making process.

 Deferred Giving

Deferred giving encompasses a variety of ways that gifts can be made to St. Mary’s from accumulated resources. It usually involves financial or estate planning, but it is not something reserved for the wealthy.  Including St. Mary’s in your will or trust can help you make an impactful gift that will support our ministries for years to come without impacting your current standard of living or income.  Your deferred gift can be designated for St. Mary’s operating fund or for a specifically designated purpose within the Church.

Selected options for a deferred gift include:

  • Bequests: Your will can have a significant impact on the lives of the individuals you cherish most and the charitable organizations and causes you supported throughout your life.  Your will can provide financial security for those you love, while supporting St. Mary’s.  Including St. Mary’s as a beneficiary in your will, trust or to the remainder in a tax deferred (IRA, 401(k), etc.) or other bank or brokerage account is a great way to help sustain our ministries in the years to come.  In your will, for example, you could designate St. Mary’s (a) a percentage of your estate, (b) a specific dollar amount, or (c) property that you may own.
  • Life Insurance: You can have a lasting impact on St. Mary’s by donating a paid-up life insurance policy or designating the Church as a beneficiary.

Charitable Gift Annuities

A charitable gift annuity enables you to make a charitable gift to St. Mary’s from your assets, yet still receive income to live on. This option may also provide you with beneficial tax benefits.

Immediate Gifts

In these challenging times when the demands on our ministries and community outreach efforts are great, we would be grateful for any immediate gifts you wish to make. Examples of immediate gifts are cash, appreciated securities and real estate. Please contact the parish office for more information.
