St. Mary’s launched a new partnership with Mary’s Shelter of the Treasure Coast this year. Mary’s shelter is a faith-based transitional home for pregnant women. As part of the Mary’s Shelter program, the expectant mothers receive good health care, job counseling and educational counseling. They build life skills and save for maternity supplies so that when they are ready to have their babies they are positioned for success. St. Mary’s is pleased to partner with Mary’s Shelter, which is located just blocks away from the church campus. Mary’s Shelter executive director, Gina Thompson, members of her staff, and two of the residents of the shelter visited St. Mary’s on Sunday, February 3, to worship together. St. Mary’s outreach committee members Amber Resetar and Bryan Garner presented Mary’s Shelter with a $2,500 check from the church Heritage Fund to help launch the partnership and purchase maternity and computer supplies for the facility. In the coming months, St. Mary’s plans to host a baby shower to collect maternity supplies for the expectant mothers.
