Reaching out in love is part of our motto.
St. Mary’s currently has a variety of local outreach opportunities.
One of our most powerful outreach ministries is Mary’s Kitchen. Every Wednesday night we serve a hot meal to over 100 people at a community dinner in our event hall. Parishioners and volunteers cook, serve, and greet our guests. Click here for more information.
Our thrift store, St. Mary’s Closet, is also a prime outreach ministry. Click here to learn more.
Our Outreach Committee has formed strong bonds with local partners.
J.D. Parker Elementary School
Through our Backpack Buddies program we provided nutritious snacks for 40 students who would otherwise struggle to get through the weekend without going hungry. At Christmas time, it is a joy to deliver hundreds of toys and gifts to the school.
This local home for pregnant mothers is a life-changing gift to our community. In fact, they change two lives at once! St. Mary’s provides rides, supplies, and support to the moms. In spring of 2013 we even hosted a baby shower at the church! Click here to see more. In summer of 2014 we were able to assist in the purchase of a van. Click here to see more.
Samaritan Center for Young Boys and Families
St. Mary’s is proud to support the work of this Christian school and home for at-risk boys. Each year we sponsor a boy to attend. In summer 2013, our “Day of Giving” was a huge success in which dozens of parishioners came out to paint, clean, and landscape – getting the school ready for the boys and teachers. The parishioners of St. Mary’s donate to this fund throughout the year. As situations arise, our church is able to make emergency grants to needy families and individuals within the community. Everything from bills to furniture. TRUE stands for “Toward the Relief of Urgent Emergencies.”
