Welcome! What to Expect on Your First Visit

Our campus is easy to locate, as we are directly on Ocean Blvd, about a mile east of downtown Stuart.  Click here for directions.  If using a GPS, make sure to type SE Ocean Blvd.

Parking is readily available on all sides.  If you are attending the contemporary service in our event hall, you might park in the back lot behind that building.  Click here for a campus map.

What do people wear?  Being South Florida, you will find a full range of styles.  You are likely to see men in blazers, but tropical shorts and sandals are also common.  Come as you are!

Childcare is available in the nursery building during the 9:00 a.m. and 10:00 a.m. services in the summer and 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. services starting September 7, 2014.

I have been to St. Mary’s a few times – What’s the next step?

You will quickly find that this parish has a lot to offer.  Finding your place might seem daunting.  Here are some initial recommendations.

  • Attend St. Mary’s G.P.S.   This is out new members class, and it is open to everyone.  It meets for five Sundays at 10:15 a.m.  This is a great way to connect, meet the clergy, and get an overview of the community.
  • Take Alpha.  The Alpha course is a 10 week introduction to the Christian faith.  Alpha is for everyone, and we highly recommend that every new parishioner give it a try.  Click here for more information.
  • Visit a Life Group.  During a time when Alpha or G.P.S. is not offered, we recommend that you check out a life group to get connected.  Life groups are 10-12 people meeting in homes or at church during the week for food, fellowship, study, and prayer.  Visitors are always welcome.  If the group is right for you, you can join right up.  Click here for a current list of life groups.

Contemporary ServiceDo I have to be a member?  What’s that?

A member of St. Mary’s is someone who has committed to being part of the family.  Of course, we hope you will soon get more involved and connected.  The initial step is easy – just fill out a Data Form and turn it into the office.  Click here for a broader description of becoming a member.

How can I contribute and give back?

That feeling of generosity means that God is working in your heart.  You can serve in worship, through outreach, through caring ministry, and much more.  Explore the website, contact ministry leaders, or set up a meeting with a clergy member to start finding your place.

What about financial giving?  What is expected?

The Bible tells us that where our treasure is, there will our hearts be also.  Giving to your church can be one of the great joys of a Christian life.  At St. Mary’s people can give by cash, check or online.  All gifts are tax deductible, and the office can provide you with a giving summary.  Pledging is simply a commitment to support St. Mary’s in the coming year with a specified amount of money.  Pledges can always be changed at any time for any reason.
